Prospective student athletes MUST have all of their SAT or ACT scores reported directly from the testing agency to the NCAA Eligibility Center. When registering for a test, listing the NCAA Report Code – 9999 as a score recipient will avoid additional fees. Please note only official test scores sent from testing agencies are acceptable. Test scores sent from the high school are not acceptable.
Suggestions for the Student-Athlete
Make your high school coach aware that you are interested to playing that sport on the collegiate level. Ask if he/she is willing to speak with college coaches, or write a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
Communicate by letter or e-mail with college coaches. Consider making them aware of your athletic involvement/accomplishments during your high school years. Prepare a personal statement or resume. Become familiar with the Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete, and the rules for athletic eligibility. Keep your guidance counselor in the information loop. Register with the NCAA Clearinghouse if you plan to participate in Division I or II collegiate athletics.
