As you know, we have continued working to understand how to proceed with facility improvements and updates. In early spring of last year, we published “New Path for the Hamilton-Wenham Schools Report," which gave us some direction. In late spring, we discussed a request for proposal (RFP) with the school committee, which helped us outline a possible study of 5 different levels of repair, replacement, updates, and compliance.

To support that work, we would love to know how people feel about the 5 levels and the idea of funding a districtwide study to determine the level of need for each of our school buildings. We hope this will give us a baseline of comfort levels as we move forward within our community. Please take a moment to complete this very brief survey. We also mailed postcards to all households in our communities to maximize participation.

The Hamilton-Wenham Integrated Preschool provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, language, and pre-academic development of children ages three to five years old. Our goal is to prepare our preschool students for Kindergarten in one of our three Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District schools.

The Integrated Preschool Model provides inclusion of all children, those with special needs and those who are typically developing, with a well-structured setting and a rich, pre-kindergarten curriculum. Integration offers an ideal opportunity for children to work and play together, explore social relationships, and develop self-esteem.

For more information, visit the Prek page on our website or call Paige Menchini at 978-468-6589/preschool@hwschools.net

Seniors Sydney Smith and Nikhita Pillai were recently recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their October 2025 PSAT performance.

Sydney was named a Commended Scholar for performing in the top 4% of all test takers, and Nikhita was named a National Merit Semifinalist for landing in the top 1%. Nikhita is now eligible to move on to become a Finalist.

National Merit Semifinalists represent the highest-scoring students in their state and are among approximately 16,000 students nationwide selected based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Semifinalists have the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships. National Merit Commended Scholars are also recognized for their outstanding academic performance, with approximately 34,000 students nationwide receiving this distinction.

Congratulations to both of these Generals!

Each year, HWRHS students participate in HWGivesBack, a school-wide service initiative that brings students together to support needs within our community. This fall, the high school is focusing on cancer awareness and supporting two members of our extended school community currently battling cancer: 5th grader Patrick Wetson and HWRHS’s Mrs. Cooke.

Through fundraising, awareness activities, and community events this fall, HWGivesBack gives students an opportunity to experience what it means to come together, give back, and make a difference for others.
