AHERA

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District is required to notify the public of the existence of presumed and confirmed asbestos-containing building materials. In maintaining compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), the District is required to perform re-inspections of all presumed and confirmed asbestos-containing building materials every three years by a Massachusetts certified inspector. Six-month visual surveillance inspections will be performed by a Massachusetts-certified inspector.

All presumed and identified asbestos materials in the school district remain in safe condition and are monitored as recommended by EPA guidelines. Specific locations and materials that are considered asbestos-containing materials are posted on our website. You can view the inventory below.
