How did we get here, and did the process consider renovations?

A consolidation project has been studied since the 2014 Strategic Plan. The district applied repeatedly starting in 2018 for MSBA funding, and Cutler School was finally accepted into the MSBA Core Program in 2022. Community members, teachers, parents, staff, and students developed a comprehensive Educational Plan to reflect our students’ current and future needs. The School Building Committee reviewed three design categories—renovation, addition/renovation, and new construction—across 24 different sites in HW, resulting in evaluating 14 design options. Renovation was considered thoroughly, but was found inadequate to meet educational and space needs.
