Guiding Principles & Goals

The Ed Plan provides the guiding principles, desired goals, and features to the design team to develop the design of the new Hamilton-Wenham elementary school.

• Equity among students throughout the school district
• A layout of small learning neighborhoods that interconnects classes to foster collaboration and create community
• A design that creates a sense of belonging, integrates play, and puts the student at the center of the learning-Construction that’s not only cost-effective and efficient, but sustainable, creating a healthy environment to learn in, today and tomorrow
• Elementary school as the academic and social emotional foundation for all learners
• A building that promotes curiosity and sensory experiences by connecting learning both inside and outside the building
