By working to reach their greatest potential, Hamilton-Wenham students will L.E.A.R.N. to:

School Improvement Plan

School Improvement Plan

The HWRHS School Council has identified two areas of focus for the 2012-2013 school year. These areas come under of the umbrella of the District goals established by the HWRHS Leadership Team.

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School will teach students the skills and abilities they will need for success in the 21st Century.

  • The High School Curriculum areas will inventory  21st Century Teaching and Learning practices that are currently in use.
  • Departments will align and revise curriculum in light of the Common Core, to insure that all students have access to a curriculum that develops 21st Century Skills.
  • Implement the Massachusetts Model System for Educator Evaluation, which reflects current understanding of best teaching and administrative practices.
High School Professional Practice Goal:
  • Develop and implement the Olweus School Climate “Anti-Bullying Initiative”, in order to insure a positive school climate which is conducive to learning.

HIgh School Student Performance Goal:

  • The high school will implement the X2 Student Information System providing more efficient access for teachers to student information.  This will allow us to meet individual student instructional needs in a more timely fashion.
  • The English, Mathematics and Science Departments will continue to monitor MCAS results, aligning curriculum with the curriculum frameworks to result in improved individual student performance.
