News for You
Student schedules are expected to be mailed in early August. An enclosed letter will outline the dates and times when counselors will be available to answer any questions or concerns. Have a wonderful summer - see you in the fall!
PSAT Information
The test date is Saturday, October 18, 2008. Registration will begin in the Guidance Office on October 1, 2008. Deadline for registering is October 10, 2008. More information <here>
Planning a College Visit
The school encourages juniors and seniors to visit colleges during weekends and school vacations. Students may be granted up to three (3) excused absences for college visits if the appropriate guidance form is completed with all necessary signatures, and pre-approved by the assistant principal at least one day in advance of the visit. College Visits to the Guidance Office
Visits will begin in September. Students interested in meeting with college representatives should sign up in the Guidance Office at least one day in advance to receive a pass that must be signed by the teacher whose class meets during that block. Students must bring that signed pass to the guidance office with them to attend the session. Attendance is taken and passes are issued to return to class if time remains in the block.
Financial Aid
Financial Aid Information is available to parents & students from a variety of reputable resources. However, as scholarship scams abound be certain to remain vigilant with respect to promises of scholarship aid. The federal government has some very helpful information. Job Board for Students
The Guidance Department maintains a Job Board for students who are interested in working. Students are encouraged to stop by and take a look at what is available.
