Friends of the High School

GOALS OF THE ORGANIZATION

to provide scholarships to seniors

to add to the high school technology program.

Every family at the high school is automatically a member of the Friends and is encouraged to attend monthly meetings and get involved.

Friends, I want to thank you and to let you know about a few end of the year items.

First, we made about $350 from the coffee cakes sales. Thanks to all of you who bought and sold cakes.

We will be having a joint Middle/High School Friends meeting on Monday, June 8th at 8:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose room of the Middle School. Please come and share your thoughts.

Finally, HWRHS travel mugs are still available and they make great gifts for seniors and students. They are $8.00 and checks are payable to Friends of the HWRHS. Just reply to this email or drop off a check to Grace Chmura and someone will deliver it to you.

FUNDRAISERS

ACTIVITIES

Wednesday, April 29th at 8:30 a.m. - Joint Middle School/High School Friends meeting in the Middle School Multipurpose room to discuss the possibility of joining the Friends in some capacity.

Friday, May 1st at 9:00 a.m. - Principal's Coffee. Mr. Fox will be the guest speaker for the first part of the meeting and then parents will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Monday-Friday, May 4-8 is Staff Appreciation week. Mr. Krol and I try to come up with something special for the teachers each day. If you have something you would like to donate, candy is always good, plants, etc... please let me know and we will make sure it gets to the whole staff. PLEASE respond if you can help with this week. I have a parent who is willing to make coffee cakes one morning but it would be great to have a treat to put in the mailboxes! Monday, May 11th at 7:00 p.m. - High School Friends meeting in the Lobby of the High School.

Coffee Cakes will be delivered on Weds. May 6th in the afternoon. We will schedule a time and let you know the pick up times. Thanks to all of you that ordered the cakes. There will be some left over to sell if you missed out earlier.

OUR ENDEAVORS

Our biggest fundraiser is the phonebook which we encourage parents to support because it not only provides an important service but helps the entire school community. We had a great response at the freshman orientation night and we are off to a great start with the phonebook projects and the families that want their names added to the email list to be informed about meetings and events.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the phonebook fundraiser by buying phonebooks. Also thanks to all of you that gave toward scholarships and dues. Your generousity is so appreciated and will have a large impact on our students and staff at the Regional.
