STUDENT SERVICES UPDATE:

Director of Student Services, Allison Collins, will be holding monthly drop-in office hours for parents who wish to talk to her personally.  These hours are an ideal time for parents to discuss questions regarding special education regulations and procedures, review IEP issues, and learn more about the district's specialized programs.  Office hours are scheduled on Friday mornings from 8-9:30, with the first session scheduled for Friday, September 11th.  Future dates include October 9, November 13, and December 11.

OPENING FOR BUS MONITOR/BUS MONITOR SUBSTITUTE

The district office is now accepting applications for part-time bus monitors and bus monitor substitutes on the PreK/Elementary special needs bus to and from Winthrop School.  There are three routes daily : morning 7:45 – 8:45, noon 11:00-12:30, and afternoon 2:30 – 4:00.  Monitors can work single or multiple routes, and the compensation rate is $11.30/hr.  If interested, please call the Student Services office @ 978-468-5303 and ask for Ann, or email butterwortha@hwschools.net.

From the Health Office:

Emergency Contact Forms went home at the beginning of school last week.  Completed forms must be returned to school by Friday, September 18th.  Last year’s forms will be disposed of by shredding at that time.  Each student must have a new form completed every school year.  If you aren’t sure whether you sent one in, please feel free to contact the Health Office via phone or email to check.  Thank you for your assistance in this safety measure.

Attention 4th Grade Parents-

In keeping with Massachusetts regulations, we must have on file in the Health Office a copy of each student’s physical exam that is completed during their 4th grade year.  A physical performed/dated April 2009 through the 09-10 school year is acceptable.  Please forward a copy of your child’s 4th grade physical to the Health Office after the pediatrician visit this year.
